An Afternoon Sail Onboard the M V Alison MacGregor

Join Dementia Support Hampshire & IOW for an afternoon sail onboard the MV Alison MacGregor.

Departs Hythe Marina at 2pm, sail around Southampton Waters, you can even have a go at steering the boat with the expert guidance of the Solent Dolphin Captain!

You will need to make your way to Hythe Marina, arriving by 1.45pm for 2pm departure.

Refreshments will be served onboard by the Solent Dolphin volunteer crew.

There is no charge, but a small donation to Solent Dolphin helps them to cover the costs of the free trips.

Hosted by Home Instead Central Hampshire, this is a free event, there is no need to book, you can just pop along and join in.

Cuppa Club Memory Café

The Point in Eastleigh welcomes you for a warm welcome in a safe, non-judgemental and friendly space. Each month’s memory café is open to people affected by dementia and their relatives, friends and carers, as well as anyone of ‘a certain age’ who’d like to join them for a sociable afternoon.

Come and try out some relaxing craft activities and puzzles, order a drink or snack from our cafe bar and enjoy the chance to have a good old-fashioned natter in good company.

No need to book just turn up and join in!

Sunflower Cafe, Bordon

Hosted by Right at Home and Andover Mind, offering a friendly welcome to those with dementia, their carers and loved ones. Join is for a cuppa and cake. We have a variety of activities for people to enjoy, such as quizzes, music, bingo, art, crafts, speakers and outings with an opportunity to gather information and support.

Avon Valley Dementia PALS is a small charity in the Ringwood and Fordingbridge area that offers car transport and organised walks in the Forest or at the coast and other local venues.

They meet on the first, third and fifth (if there is a fifth) Tuesday afternoon of each month.

Walking can have a beneficial effect on the health and well-being of those living with dementia. Walks finish at a pub or café where the group enjoy some conversation with coffee/tea and cake. Participating in these friendly walks can help with feelings of independence and also offer a short respite for carers.

A small donation of £5 covers our travel, parking and refreshments. To register an interest please contact one of the two people below:

Hosted by Dementia Support Hampshire & IOW and led by an amazing team of volunteers.

Join us every Wednesday at St Mary Magdalene Church Hall, 1.30pm – 3.30pm for our weekly social meet-up.

Activities include; arts & crafts, reminiscence, cognitive stimulation games and quizzes, and conversation. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be served.

Some weeks we will have guest speakers talking about health and social care, finance and benefits, wellbeing, and coping strategies.

The event is for anyone and everyone living with dementia, be it the person with dementia, their family and friends, or their carers.

No need to book, just turn up and join in!

You can also book a 1:1 appointment with a Dementia Support worker if you need help with form filling, claiming attendance allowance, information about Power of Attorney, home help, respite, or residential care. Call the helpline on 0344 324 6589 to book your appointment.

There is no charge but donations are gratefully received.

Activities include; arts & crafts, reminiscence, cognitive stimulation games, quizzes, and conversation. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be served.

There is no charge as the group this year is funded by UK Government and Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council, but donations are gratefully received to ensure that we have funds to continue the group in the longer term.

Kim’s Café

Kim’s Café meets monthly on the second Wednesday each month at All Saints Church in Denmead, Waterlooville, and enjoy fun and friendship over tea and homemade cakes.

As well as providing peer support the café is supported by the Dementia Health and Wellbeing Coaches who work directly with GP practices in the Havant and Waterlooville Primary Care Network

Andover Mind- Cowplain Carers Group

Andover Mind welcomes any ‘Carers’ and their ‘Cared for’, into our warm and friendly, monthly social group held on third Thursday of every month between 1.30pm – 3.30pm.

Each group will be led by a Generic Carer Support Worker and Dementia Adviser from Andover Mind who will be on hand to offer support and advice.
