Free Information Dementia Talk at Hartwood House, Lyndhurst

Hartwood House would like to invite anyone caring for a loved one with dementia to a free information Dementia talk on World Alzheimer’s Day at Hartwood House.

Thursday 21st of September 2023 commencing at 6:30pm, James Wilson, who lectures at the University of Chichester and specialises in dementia will lead the event.
Cheese & wine will be served during the session.

We hope the event will provide a better understanding of what dementia is, as well as giving some useful information on how to help people with dementia live calm and fulfilled lives. There will also be an opportunity to share experiences and talk with others.

Kim’s Café

Kim’s Café meets monthly on the second Wednesday each month at All Saints Church in Denmead, Waterlooville, and enjoy fun and friendship over tea and homemade cakes.

As well as providing peer support the café is supported by the Dementia Health and Wellbeing Coaches who work directly with GP practices in the Havant and Waterlooville Primary Care Network

Andover Mind- Cowplain Carers Group

Andover Mind welcomes any ‘Carers’ and their ‘Cared for’, into our warm and friendly, monthly social group held on third Thursday of every month between 1.30pm – 3.30pm.

Each group will be led by a Generic Carer Support Worker and Dementia Adviser from Andover Mind who will be on hand to offer support and advice.

Guided Walk with Refreshments

A guided walk at Sir Harold Hillier Gardens, hosted by Romsey Dementia Action Group. Find out more about the gardens and their beautiful plants, followed by refreshments in the café.

Lordshill Memory Café

Hosted by Caraway, The Lordshill Memory Café is held twice a month on the 2nd & 4th Thursday at Lordshill Church, Lordhill District Centre from 1.30-3pm.

Lordshill Memory Café alternates between a themed reminiscence fostering nostalgic discussions in the second week of the month and a fun singing session in the fourth week.

The memory café is for those with memory problems, their carers and households living with dementia. Hosted in partnership with the Solent Admiral Nursing Team and Carers in Southampton. An Admiral nurse will be present when available.
