This is a free event hosted by Hartwood House Care Home in partnership with Dementia Support Hampshire & IOW.
A drop in afternoon for family, friends, carers and those living with dementia. Enjoy a safe, relaxed afternoon singing to enhance wellbeing and an opportunity to ask questions and share concerns with others. A selection of snacks and refreshments will be available in the beautiful environment of Hartwood House Care Home in Lyndhurst. No need to book, just turn up and join in!
A 45minute musical session, followed by refreshments. 2pm-3.30pm.
The event is free to attend and is open to anyone and everyone living with dementia, but would be particularly beneficial for people living with mid/later stage dementia, as singing can relieve symptoms and enhance mood.

The structured group sessions use music to encourage communication and participation and include opportunities to talk to other people.
Each session includes a range of activities including vocal warm-up and singing a variety of familiar and new songs.
We have a half hour social get together over tea or coffee before we move to the circle of seats where we do an hour of singing and playing different handheld instruments.
