Jiggy Vintage

Hosted by Portsdown View Care Home in collaboration with Jiggy Wrigglers UK; an award-winning educational services provider which has been offering classes since 2008. Parents and their children from the local area are invited to join, residents and visitors are able to engage in the sessions by singing along and playing interactive games with the children.

A music, movement, and sensory development class. No need to book, just turn up and join in!

Musical Moments Social Afternoon – Horndean

This is a free event hosted by Dementia Support Hampshire & IOW.

A drop in afternoon for family, friends, carers and those living with dementia. Enjoy a safe, relaxed afternoon singing to enhance wellbeing and an opportunity to ask questions and share concerns with others. A selection of snacks and refreshments will be available in the beautiful environment of Bere Grove Care Home in Horndean.

A 45minute musical session, followed by refreshments. 2pm-3.30pm.

The event and is open to anyone and everyone living with dementia, but particularly beneficial for people living with mid/later stage dementia, as singing can relieve symptoms and enhance mood.

The Memory Choir

Join The Memory Choir at Portsdown View Care Home with a mission to improve quality of life for all those living with dementia.

Choir sessions are on the second Thursday of every month from 2-3pm at Portsdown View Care Home and open to non-residents to attend.

An opportunity to forge new friendships through the wonders of singing.

The Memory Choir (TMC) is a socially responsible organisation with the aim of enhancing the wellbeing of people living with dementia through group singing.

Lordshill Memory Café

Hosted by Caraway, The Lordshill Memory Café is held twice a month on the 2nd & 4th Thursday at Lordshill Church, Lordhill District Centre from 1.30-3pm.

Lordshill Memory Café alternates between a themed reminiscence fostering nostalgic discussions in the second week of the month and a fun singing session in the fourth week.

The memory café is for those with memory problems, their carers and households living with dementia. Hosted in partnership with the Solent Admiral Nursing Team and Carers in Southampton. An Admiral nurse will be present when available.
