Carers Support Event Drop In

Camrose, Gillies, Hackwood and Beggarwood Patient Participation Group will be holding a Carers Support Event for patients and carers on Tuesday 24th June 2025 10am to 2pm at St Andrews Surgery.

Princess Royal Trust for Carers are joining us at this event and our own PPG Support advisors will also be on hand to help you find help and support available to you in the area.

No need to book, just turn up.

Whitchurch Time Together Support Group

A monthly support group hosted by The Princess Royal Trust for Carers, for carers, their loved ones and friends. Everyone welcome. Come along and meet other carers in your area and enjoy some light refreshment and activities.

Home Safety & Cyber Security Information Session – Waterlooville

Come and meet The Blue Lamp Trust, who will be visiting the Dementia Support Hampshire & IOW Support & Social Group on Wednesday 14th May.

The Blue Lamp Trust Bobby Scheme provides practical advice regarding home security and safety, including examples of the types of hardware that can be installed to make a home more secure. You will also be able to make an appointment for a free home assessment and if needed provide the following free of charge.

Locks for doors and windows
Spy-Holes
Door Chains
Smoke Alarms
Carbon Monoxide Detectors
Letterbox security

The Cyber Bobby Scheme will cover such things as;

What is cyber crime?
Cyber and scam prevention advice
How to check privacy settings
Signposting to other advice and resources
How to report issues
How to recognise scam emails and text messages

The Safety Technicians are uniformed, police vetted and carry ID cards.

Dementia Information Session – Eastleigh

Dementia Support Hampshire & IOW will be welcoming Dementia Ambassador, Sue Carter, to our Support & Social Group. Sue will be delivering a 1 hour Dementia Friends session. This session is for people who are caring for a loved one with the condition and would like to learn more about dementia and the small ways you can help someone living with dementia. There will be time at the end of the session to ask questions and to meet others caring for someone with dementia.

You can bring your loved one with dementia and they can enjoy spending time with others at the social.

Refreshments will be provided.

Hosted by The Bridge – Milford-on-Sea Community Centre, Memory Afternoons in the Community Centre are open to anyone who is caring at home for a relative or friend, to come along either with or without the person they care for.

Memory Afternoons will be on the first and third Thursday afternoon each month, from 2pm-3.30pm.

There will be games and reminiscence activities.

When a person experiences some memory issues, they and their families are likely to want to find out what help is available. The Milford on Sea Charitable Trust are providing a Coordinator, Jan, for the village and surrounding area. She has worked with people with dementia and will be able to signpost to relevant local services and support. She will be a sympathetic ear to people at a time when they may be very anxious. As well as being at the Music for a Healthy Mind sessions, she will be on hand at the Memory Afternoons
