Step Into the World of Dementia – The Dementia Bus is Coming to Havant

Home Instead Havant is bringing the Dementia Bus to the local community on Thursday 21st May, offering a powerful and immersive experience to help people better understand dementia.

📍 Location: Tesco Extra Havant, Solent Road, PO9 1TR
🕙 Time: 10:00am – 4:30pm
🎟 Booking: No appointment needed – just turn up

Hosted with the kind support of Tesco Extra Havant, this world-renowned mobile simulation unit delivers the Virtual Dementia Experience, a medically and scientifically designed programme that gives participants a unique insight into what it may feel like to live with dementia.

What to Expect

Each session lasts around 15 minutes, during which participants wear:

  • Specialised goggles
  • Headphones
  • Sensory equipment

These elements simulate the cognitive and physical challenges associated with dementia, creating a safe but impactful environment to build understanding, empathy, and awareness.

Support On Hand

Representatives from Dementia Support Hampshire & IOW will also be present throughout the day to:

  • Answer questions
  • Offer advice
  • Provide support to anyone affected by dementia

Who Should Attend?

This experience is valuable for:

  • Family members and carers
  • Professionals in health and social care
  • Anyone interested in learning more about dementia

Whether you are directly supporting someone or simply want to deepen your understanding, this is an eye-opening opportunity not to be missed.

👉 Drop by at any time – no booking required.
