Walking Group – Ringwood & Fordingbridge

Walks hosted by Avon Valley Dementia PALS

Avon Valley Dementia PALS is a small charity in the Ringwood and Fordingbridge area that offers car transport and organised walks in the Forest or at the coast and other local venues.

They meet on the first, third and fifth (if there is a fifth) Tuesday afternoon of each month.

Walking can have a beneficial effect on the health and well-being of those living with dementia. Walks finish at a pub or café where the group enjoy some conversation with coffee/tea and cake. Participating in these friendly walks can help with feelings of independence and also offer a short respite for carers.

A small donation of £5 covers our travel, parking and refreshments. To register an interest please contact one of the two people below:

Bitterne Memory Café

Hosted by Caraway, The Bitterne Memory Café is held on the 2nd & 4th Wednesday each month in their cosy café space, providing yummy cake, friendly chat and fun activities.

The memory café is for those with memory problems, their carers and households living with dementia. Hosted in partnership with the Solent Admiral Nursing Team and Carers in Southampton. An Admiral nurse will be present when available.

This group is held at the Ascension Church Café, Bitterne from 2.30pm-4.30pm.

Coronation Celebration Tea Party

Hosted by Dementia Support Hampshire & IOW.

This week our Fareham and Eastleigh Groups come together to celebrate the coronation with an afternoon tea, with entertainment by the wonderful Delvis!

The event is for anyone and everyone living with dementia, be it the person with dementia, their family and friends, or their carers.

This is a free event but donations very welcome!

Lordshill Memory Café

Hosted by Caraway, The Lordshill Memory Café is held twice a month on the 2nd & 4th Thursday at Lordshill Church, Lordhill District Centre from 1.30-3pm.

Lordshill Memory Café alternates between a themed reminiscence fostering nostalgic discussions in the second week of the month and a fun singing session in the fourth week.

The memory café is for those with memory problems, their carers and households living with dementia. Hosted in partnership with the Solent Admiral Nursing Team and Carers in Southampton. An Admiral nurse will be present when available.

Highfield Memory Café

Hosted by Caraway, The Highfield Memory Café is held twice a month on the 1st & 3rd Tuesday at Highfield Church Centre Lounge from 2pm-4pm, just a short walk from Portswood High Street.

Pop by for a friendly chat, Tea and activities.
