Join Dementia Support Hampshire & IOW every Thursday at Hartwood House in Lyndhurst, 1.30pm – 3.30pm for our weekly social meet-up.

Activities include; arts & crafts, reminiscence, cognitive stimulation games, quizzes, and conversation. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be served.

The event is free and for anyone and everyone living with memory loss or dementia, including family and friends, and carers.

No need to book, just turn up and join in!

Please note: There are a few parking spaces in the car park and you can double park (but please let reception know), alternatively, there is some on road parking in the road opposite.

Join Dementia Support Hampshire & IOW every second Wednesday each month, 11am – 1pm for our monthly social meet-up.

Activities include; arts & crafts, reminiscence, cognitive stimulation games, quizzes, and conversation. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be served.

The event is for anyone and everyone living with dementia, be it the person with dementia, their family and friends, or their carers.

Neuroactive Chairobics

Hosted by Dementia Friendly Alton

Chair based exercise to music with optional standing. Suitable for those living with neurological conditions such as Dementia, Stroke, Multiple Sclerosis and Parkinson’s.

No need to book, just turn up and join in! £3 per session.

Isle of Wight Friendship Group

Hosted by Alzheimer’s Society, come along to our IOW Friendship group. Our groups are for anyone affected by dementia.

This includes the person with the diagnosis, family friends and carers.

We provide a number of activities for you to take part in or if you’d prefer, just come along for a chat.

This is a friendly and welcoming group who like to go out through the year.

At Barchester The Fernes Care Home we know the importance of supporting our local community and hold monthly groups, specifically for those living with dementia or caring for a loved one.

Horticulture at the Sensory Garden

Welcome to Dementia Friendly Alton’s person-centered approach to horticultural therapy for people living with dementia. The emphasis is on providing opportunities for social interaction and meaningful activity, whilst benefitting from the calming and restorative effects of natural surroundings. Come along and enjoy garden-related, social and intergenerational activities at Alton Public Gardens Sensory Area.

Fit Steps with Glenda

Join Dementia Friendly Alton for Fit Steps with Glenda every Tuesday, an inclusive and accessible dance class repeating basic dance moves. Great, fun to dance to tunes old and new, with the addition of a few props along the way in good old Fred Astaire style!
