Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (CST)
CST is one of the most structured and research-backed approaches available in the UK. Developed by Dr Aimee Spector and her team, CST involves themed group sessions aimed at maintaining memory, orientation, and communication.
Sessions are low-pressure, non-clinical, and designed to foster a sense of success and connection.
All of our Support & Social Group activities are based on CST principles and our staff facilitators have been trained in cognitive Stimulation Therapy by Dr Aimee Spencer.

Music for Dementia
Music has a valuable role to play in enhancing quality of life for people living with dementia, and their carers. It has the power to bring people together in the here and now, providing a way to stay connected with loved ones and carers through shared experiences.
It can enliven, stimulate and enable people to express themselves creatively beyond words. This involvement enables people to be seen for who they are beyond their diagnosis.
Research and lived experiences show that music can help reduce the often-distressing symptoms of dementia, such as agitation, apathy and anxiety.
Our Young Onset Dementia Online Meet-Up
Every third Tuesday each month 7pm-8pm
Living with young onset dementia can bring unique challenges, and it can sometimes feel difficult to connect with others who truly understand. Our monthly Young Onset Dementia Online Meet-Up provides a welcoming, friendly and supportive space for people diagnosed with dementia under the age of 65 to come together.
Join us from the comfort of your own home to share experiences, make new connections, exchange practical tips, and enjoy informal conversation with others facing similar circumstances. Whether you are newly diagnosed or have been living with dementia for some time, you will be welcomed into a relaxed and understanding community.
There is no pressure to speak if you would rather listen, and each session is designed to encourage friendship, peer support, and mutual understanding. The group is facilitated by experienced members of the Dementia Support Hampshire & IOW team, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for everyone.
Come along, connect with others, and discover that you are not alone on your dementia journey.
Please RSVP on our online event calendar here.
Please note: Groups do not take place on Bank Holidays or between Christmas and New Year. Please check our online event calendar here for full details.
The Groups are free to attend, however, we suggest a donation of £2.50 per person to help cover the costs of refreshments.
Musical Moments is FREE to attend as the costs are covered by our amazing care home partners.
