Dementia Support Hampshire & IOW is a small independent charity that provides peer support, information, and signposting for people living with dementia and their families in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.

Job Title: Community & Corporate Fundraiser
Reports to: Chief Executive Hours: Part‑Time (12 hours per week – 2 days x 6 hours per day) Days to be agreed.
Location: Hybrid – Community-based across Hampshire, with some home/office working
Salary: £9,360 (FTE £29,250)
Contract: 12-month fixed term contract (renewable subject to funding)
Role Purpose:
The purpose of this role is to increase income, visibility, and support for the charity by engaging local communities and businesses. The postholder will build strong relationships with individuals, groups, and corporate partners to encourage fundraising and long-term involvement.
Key Responsibilities
Community Fundraising:
– Develop and deliver a community fundraising plan.
– Build relationships with schools, community groups, clubs, and individual supporters.
– Support and motivate volunteer fundraisers.
– Plan and deliver our community fundraising events – Walk for Dementia, Bake a Difference, Santa Slide, Christmas Raffles, and any other opportunities as required.
– Attend community events, presentations, and networking opportunities.
Corporate Fundraising:
– Research, identify and approach local businesses.
– Secure corporate partnerships, sponsorships, and Charity of the Year support.
– Prepare partnership proposals and presentations.
– Maintain strong relationships with corporate supporters and provide excellent stewardship.
Fundraising Communications & Administration:
– Produce engaging content for social media, newsletters, and fundraising materials.
– Maintain accurate supporter records on the CRM system.
– Monitor income targets and provide monthly progress updates.
– Ensure compliance with fundraising regulations and GDPR requirements.
Person Specification
Experience:
– Essential: Experience in fundraising, sales, business development, or community engagement.
– Essential: Experience building relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
– Desirable: Charity fundraising experience.
– Desirable: Experience supporting volunteers.
– Desirable: Experience organising events.
Skills & Abilities:
– Essential: Excellent verbal and written communication.
– Essential: Strong relationship‑building and networking skills.
– Essential: Ability to work independently.
– Essential: Strong organisational and time‑management skills.
– Essential: Confident presenting or speaking publicly.
– Desirable: Ability to create fundraising content.
– Desirable: Ability to prepare partnership proposals.
– Desirable: CRM database experience.
Knowledge:
– Essential: Understanding of basic fundraising principles.
– Essential: Understanding of confidentiality and GDPR.
– Essential: Local area knowledge (Hampshire & IOW).
– Desirable: Knowledge of the Fundraising Regulator’s Code of Practice.
– Desirable: Knowledge of dementia or health/social care.
