Memory Lounge Project

Come and join us for creative activities, object inspired reminiscence, and tea and coffee! This is a free workshop programme designed to support the older community across Basingstoke and Deane.

We have 8 spaces a week available, we are also able to run the group on a Friday morning if required.

Musical Moments – Fareham

This is a free event hosted by Dementia Support Hampshire & IOW.

A drop in afternoon for family, friends, carers and those living with dementia. Enjoy a safe, relaxed afternoon singing to enhance wellbeing and an opportunity to ask questions and share concerns with others. A selection of snacks and refreshments will be available in the beautiful environment of Florence Court Care Home in Segensworth, near Fareham. No need to book, just turn up and join in!

A 45minute musical session, followed by refreshments. 2pm-3.30pm.

The event and is open to anyone and everyone living with dementia, but particularly beneficial for people living with mid/later stage dementia, as singing can relieve symptoms and enhance mood.

Music Cafe / Dementia Cafe

Join Dementia Friendly Alton every Friday to listen to a variety of live music and/or enjoy a sing along hosted by a variety of wonderful musicians.

It’s free to attend, just turn up and join in!

Fit Steps with Glenda

Join Dementia Friendly Alton for Fit Steps with Glenda every Tuesday, an inclusive and accessible dance class repeating basic dance moves. Great, fun to dance to tunes old and new, with the addition of a few props along the way in good old Fred Astaire style!

This is a free event and there is no need to book, just turn up and join in!

 

Golden Grooves

Join Dementia Friendly Alton at The Assembly Rooms as Mandy Wilson welcomes everyone to join her for Golden Grooves, an accessible work out for all, whilst sitting in or standing behind a chair. Fabulous tunes and great fun with plenty of action and groove!

Dementia Friendly Alton Heritage and Culture Club

Join Dementia Friendly Alton and Anne to enjoy some good conversation and reminiscence with a wide variety of speakers and activities looking back at our history.

The Fabulous 50’s

Hosted by Greenbuttercup CIC, reminiscence activity group for people living with Dementia and their relatives/carers held on the third Friday of each month. This month it will be all about the 1950’s, so why not come along for a morning of nostalgia with games, memorabilia and music. There is a charge of £4.00 per person to include all activities and tea/coffee with biscuits.

No need to book, just turn up and join in!

Please note that this will be held at a different venue this month.

Basingstoke Support & Social Group

Join Dementia Support Hampshire & IOW every Monday at St Michael’s Church Cottage Hall, 1.30pm – 3.30pm for our weekly social meet-up.

Activities include; arts & crafts, reminiscence, cognitive stimulation games, quizzes, and conversation. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be served.

The event is for anyone and everyone living with dementia, be it the person with dementia, their family and friends, or their carers.

No need to book, just turn up and join in!

You can also book a 1:1 appointment with a Dementia Support Advisor if you need help with form filling, claiming attendance allowance, council tax reduction, or information about Power of Attorney, home help, respite, or residential care. Call the helpline on 0344 324 6589 to book your appointment.

There is no charge as the group this year is funded by UK Government and Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council, but donations are gratefully received to ensure that we have funds to continue the group in the longer term.

 

Eastleigh Support & Social

Join Dementia Support Hampshire & IOW every Friday at St Andrews Church Hall in Eastleigh, 1pm – 3pm for our weekly social meet-up.

Activities include; arts & crafts, reminiscence, cognitive stimulation games, quizzes, and conversation. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be served.

The event is free and for anyone and everyone living with memory loss or dementia, including family and friends, and carers.

No need to book, just turn up and join in!

Please note: There are a few parking spaces at the front and back of the church, parking bays with free Blue Badge parking along the roadside to the front of the church, and parking in the Swan Centre car park (charges apply).
