Cuppa Club Memory Café

The Point in Eastleigh welcomes you for a warm welcome in a safe, non-judgemental and friendly space. Each month’s memory café is open to people affected by dementia and their relatives, friends and carers, as well as anyone of ‘a certain age’ who’d like to join them for a sociable afternoon.

Come and try out some relaxing craft activities and puzzles, order a drink or snack from our cafe bar and enjoy the chance to have a good old-fashioned natter in good company.

No need to book just turn up and join in!

Dementia Friends Information Session

A 1-hour Dementia Friends session delivered by an Alzheimer’s Society Ambassador teaches about dementia, its impact, and how to support those affected.

There will also be other local services on hand to tell you about their Dementia friendly initiatives and what support they can offer.

Refreshments and plenty of free parking

Attendees on the day include Alzheimer’s Society Ambassador; Local Adult Social Prescribers; Hampshire Carer Support and Dementia Advice Service; The Blue Lamp Trust; Charlotte Pragnell Reflexologist and Cllr Adeel Shah.

 

Sunflower Cafe, Bordon

Hosted by Right at Home and Andover Mind, offering a friendly welcome to those with dementia, their carers and loved ones. Join is for a cuppa and cake. We have a variety of activities for people to enjoy, such as quizzes, music, bingo, art, crafts, speakers and outings with an opportunity to gather information and support.

Dementia Action Week – Social Afternoon

Hosted by Basingstoke Discovery Centre, you are invited to join Dementia Support Hampshire & IOW for a social afternoon and refreshments. Activities will include, arts & crafts, dominoes, rummikub, reminiscence, and the chance to meet others living with dementia in your local area.

Active Dementia Exercise Group – Petersfield

A Dementia Friendly exercise group hosted by Winton House. Exercise is beneficial for physical and mental wellbeing and can improve quality of life for all people in all stages of dementia. This activity helps both people with dementia and their carers.

Meeting first Wednesday of the month 2.30 – 4.00pm

Qualified tutor Beth Svarovska

Followed by tea and homemade cakes and opportunity to chat.

Suitable for people with early-mid dementia. The cost per session is £5 but carers are free.

MIND Memory Cafe

Andover Mind provides a free carer support and dementia advice service for unpaid carers. If you’re looking for help and information, or simply a listening ear, our new Memory Cafe provides an opportunity to talk to our team, and enjoy some tea and cake. Working in association with Sunnybank House Care Home in Fair Oak

The event takes place on the second Monday each month at 2pm. No need to book, just turn up and join in!

Sunnybank Womens Group

Hosted by Sunnybank House Care Home the Sunnybank Womens Group meets twice a month and is for ladies to meet for a chat, tea and cake, crafts, baking, guest speakers and more. A relaxed group that welcomes new members from the community.

Every first Monday each month 2.30pm-4pm.

Musical Memories

Hosted by Sunnybank Care Home, Musical Memories brings people affected by dementia or Memory Loss together to sing a variety of songs they know and love, in a fun and friendly environment. We have pom-poms to use during the session and relatives join in also. We end the sessions with Tea and Cake and the chance to make new friends

The fourth Saturday every month at 2.30pm – 4pm.

Bursledon, Hamble & Hound Memory Café

Hosted by Bursledon Hamble and Hound Dementia Action Group this monthly Memory Café is for you If you’re looking for help and information, or simply a listening ear, our Memory Café provides an opportunity to talk to our team, and enjoy some tea and cake.

This is a free event for people living with dementia including family carers. No need to book, just turn up and join in.
