Hosted by Alzheimer’s Society, Singing for the Brain® is based around the principles of music therapy and singing.
To join this online group, you will need to have either a laptop or tablet (smart phone is suitable but might be too small to see the action!). You will need to have an email account that you can access and access to the internet for the duration of the session.
An email is sent out weekly with details about the session and a Zoom link. The link only needs to be clicked, and you will be able to join in immediately. (There is no need to have Zoom on your device).
During the singing, attendees are on mute so you can sing as quiet or as loud as you wish. You will be able to see and hear the singing lead and words will be on the screen if needed.
Each session includes a range of activities including vocal warm-up and singing a variety of familiar and new songs. There is time for socialising at the beginning of each session.
Singing for the Brain® is for the person with a diagnosis of dementia and their carer.
Invitation emails are sent out a couple of days before the session with the zoom link. For further information Call 02392 892035 or email HIP@alzheimers.org.uk.
