Hosted by Alzheimer’s Society, Singing for the Brain® is based around the principles of music therapy and singing.
The structured group sessions use music to encourage communication and participation and include opportunities to talk to other people.
Each session includes a range of activities including vocal warm-up and singing a variety of familiar and new songs.
We have a half hour social get together over tea or coffee before we move to the circle of seats where we do an hour of singing and playing different handheld instruments.
Singing for the brain ® is for the person with a diagnosis of dementia and their carer.
